On the borders of Touraine and Berry, le Chateau of Azay-le-Ferron, erected from the 15th to the 18th century and purchased by the town of Tours in 1952 combines the beauty of its architecture with the attractive charm of richly-furnished sitting-rooms. Vast rooms (drawing-room, library, dining-room, etc.) are followed intimates bedrooms which recall the setting of different periods (Louis XVI, Empire and romantic periods, etc.) and evoke the life-style in a rich and comfortable rural residence where hunting parties and receptions were organized until the early 20th century. The park is made of various "scenes" (French-style flowerbeds, English-garden, beautiful landscape park) which bring out the peacefullness and the elegance of an exceptional site.
