Barye street in Paris
Near the avenue de Wagram, small Barye street is located near the parc Monceau, close to Neuilly-sur-Seine.

Exactly in the 17th district, it runs near the 8th district of Champs-Elysees plunging to the heart of the City of Light. It starts at 19 Médéric street and ends at 20 Cardinet street. This road opened in 1880 under the name of Transversale, received in 1884 the animal sculptor's name of Barye (Paris, September 24, 1795 - Paris, June 25, 1875). Antoine-Louis Barye is buried in the cemetery of Père-Lachaise. He sketched by taking animals from the Jardin des Plantes as model. This has led him to painting. This is an artist who spent his life in Paris, even if the exotic background of his paintings has a very realistic power. His works are known for the expressiveness of their troubled romance. In a break with the classicism of the Institute, Barye use the techniques of his time and despite his republican ideas, realized a masterpiece of decorative art for Ferdinand-Philippe d'Orléans.
