Thirteenth District. Latin Quarter. Starts 30 avenue des Gobelins, street of the famous factory (No. 42) and ends rue Berbier-du-Mets. It owes its name to the vicinity of the Manufacture des Gobelins and was formerly known as rue de Bievre. At No. 17, l'Hotel de la Reine Blanche we already talked about the rue de la Reine Blanche. The widow of king saint Louis, Marguerite de Provence, built himself a residence in 1290 when she retired until her death in 1295. The residence was on the path from L'Oursine to the rue Croulebarbe.
