Boulevard Saint-Michel is an Haussmanian artery built in 1869, preceded by the 1960 annexation of suburbs Auteuil, Passy, Les Batignolles, Montmartre, La Chapelle, La Villette, Belleville, Charonne, Bercy, Vaugirard, Grenelle. Which was a project under the famous Baron, Grand Paris that grew from 12 to 20 districts. The original name of the bd Saint-Michel bd was the rue d’Enfer (street of hell) that covered the Roman road (Via Inferior).
