In the Universite street, we may have forgotten, but she remembers the flood of 1910 when people where going by boat! This beautiful street in the seventh arrondissement of Paris, in the beautiful district of the Eiffel Tower begins at 20 Saints-Peres street and end Paul Deschanel street. Part of this street between Bonaparte street and Courty street has replaced the old winding road that crossed from one side to another the famous Pré-aux-Clercs (the name appears in 960).

This meadow was a strip of land very long and belonged to the University of Paris. It is unclear how the land is passed from the Abbey to the University which claims that it is a gift of Charlemagne. It stretches to the current National Assembly. It is cut into two parts by a creek (La Noue) whose court follows the current rue Bonaparte. It is a beautiful and extensive plain covered with small and charming creeks lined with willow trees, hedges and well shaded by large trees.

This property of the University in the middle of the abbey is confusing and the monks of Saint-Germain des Pres would have liked to recover all or part of the area, creating a confusion and gave rise to provocation on the part of students, and serious conflicts.
