The rue de Varenne connects to bd Raspail and bd des Invalides near the tomb of Napoleon. This tomb was commissioned to the architect Visconti in 1842 by King Louis-Philippe, and they will cut a huge excavation under the Dome to introduce it. The body of the Emperor Napoleon will introduce in April 2, 1861.
Rue Varenne No. 54
Opening in the early seventeenth street Varenne brought the street name of rue du Plessis, de la Garenne and rue de la Varenne. We have several ideas on the origin of its name because varenne is the ideal terrain for hunting (see the Rue de Bellechasse), or the street may have the name of a noble a lord of Varennes, as François Perron, or Florent de Varenne, admiral of France. At No. 54 lived sailor Virginie Heriot and Pierre Janet famous philosopher and psychologist.
